THE Brisbane solar company building a heart-shaped solar farm made up of 7,888 PV panels is calling on the Federal Government to show some love to a sector stuck under a cloud.
Conergy Australia managing director David McCallum said it is ramping up offshore projects, including the 2MW solar farm to be built in coming months in New Caledonia, while the local market suffers from uncertainty generated by expectations the federal government will halt Australia’s renewable energy rollout.
“With all of the uncertainty in the Australian market, the Heart of New Caledonia project will be a giant heart-shaped message to the government that it’s time to start loving solar,” said Mr McCallum who will join a rally Friday at federal MP Peter Dutton’s Strathpine office as part of a national campaign against altering Australia’s renewable energy target (RET).
