Solar Choice says its potential 2GW solar farm proposal for Queensland’s Bulli Creek will move ahead after last week’s Renewable Energy Target compromise was struck.
Labor has agreed to a government plan to reduce the 2020 target from 41,000GWh to 33,000GWh.
Solar Choice’s Angus Gemmell said the project, which would likely be built in 100MW stages, and which has received approval from Toowoomba Council, could now move forward.
“Australia is the first country to go backwards in its renewable energy target so it’s both good and bad news,’’ Mr Gemmell told The Courier Mail.“It doesn’t send the right signals. But it’s good news for the project.’’
